Um problema no motor de estibordo obrigou a tripulação a realizar a aterragem. O avião trazia correspondência que seria entregue aos britânicos depois de vários pedidos. Tanto o avião e a tripulação pertenciam ao 15 OTU (Operational Training Unit), a unidade de treino operacional, tendo sido destacados para serviço fora de Inglaterra.

A problem in the starboard engine forced the crew to land in Portugal. The aircraft was carrying mail that was latter returned to the British authorities. Before this flight the aircraft and the crew belonged to the 15 OTU (Operatonal Training Unit) and were detached to overseas duty.
